About the position

Intermountain Electric (IME) is seeking a QA/QC Manager to oversee quality assurance and quality control for large-scale electrical projects. This role involves developing and implementing quality control plans, conducting inspections, collaborating with project teams, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The QA/QC Manager will play a crucial role in maintaining high-quality standards and driving continuous improvement within the organization as IME expands its operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive quality control plans for large-scale projects.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of electrical installations and systems to verify adherence to project specifications and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers and field leadership to establish quality objectives and performance metrics.
  • Maintain daily QC and as-built documentation.
  • Review project plans and specifications to identify potential quality issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Investigate non-conformities and customer complaints, developing effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of quality control activities, including inspection reports and corrective action plans.
  • Verify all Submittal and RFI requirements are met.
  • Prepare and manage the punch list inspection and follow-up process.
  • Prepare close-out documentation such as O&M manuals and warranties.
  • Monitor and analyze quality performance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Conduct supplier evaluations and quality audits to ensure the quality of purchased materials.
  • Oversee calibration and maintenance of electrical testing equipment.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Stay updated on industry developments and regulatory changes related to electrical systems.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and best practices (e.g., NEC, IEEE, NFPA).
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and installation techniques.
  • Full working knowledge of electrical testing equipment and inspection techniques.
  • Understanding of BICSI TDMM and Fire Alarm systems NFPA 72.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement quality management systems.
  • Excellent analytical skills to identify and resolve quality issues.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using quality management software and tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a track record of successfully leading teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Journeyman Electrician license preferred.
  • Master Electrician license a plus.
  • NICET certification a plus.
  • BICSI certification a plus.
  • BIM 360 knowledge a plus.
  • OSHA 10, 30 or 500 a plus.
  • Understanding of Airport Operations and Critical Operating facilities a plus.
