About the position

The QA/QC Project Manager at Overwatch is responsible for overseeing the commissioning, quality assurance, and quality control processes for large-scale data center construction projects. This role is crucial in ensuring that all systems and components are designed, installed, tested, operated, and maintained to the highest standards, with a focus on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems. The position requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage quality objectives in alignment with project timelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the entire CxQAQC process, ensuring that all MEP systems are installed and function in accordance with design specifications.
• Develop and implement comprehensive quality management plans and commissioning checklists.
• Ensure that the project meets all regulatory, environmental, and client-specific quality standards.
• Coordinate with the design team, subcontractors, and commissioning agents to facilitate a seamless commissioning process.
• Perform inspections, testing, and validation of systems such as HVAC, electrical, fire protection, and other critical infrastructure.
• Identify and address any deficiencies, ensuring corrective actions are taken to meet quality standards.
• Provide regular reports to stakeholders on commissioning and quality control progress, including documentation of testing procedures, issues, and resolutions.
• Maintain clear and organized records of all CxQAQC activities, including commissioning documentation, test reports, and certifications.
• Collaborate closely with project management teams to ensure alignment of quality objectives with overall project timelines.
• Manage the punch list process, ensuring all deficiencies are corrected before final handover to the client.
• Oversee the transition to operations, ensuring the smooth handover of systems to facilities management teams.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in commissioning, quality assurance, and quality control, with a focus on data centers or mission-critical projects.
• Strong understanding of MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical, fire protection, and plumbing.
• Proven ability to manage and execute commissioning plans from design through to project handover.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with a strong attention to detail.
• Familiarity with relevant building codes, industry standards, and safety regulations.
• Proficiency in Cx and quality management software tools such as Bluebeam, Procore, and commissioning software.
• Experience with developing and managing comprehensive QAQC programs.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required).
• Certifications: Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP), ASHRAE Commissioning Process Management Professional (CPMP), or similar (preferred).
• PMP or equivalent project management certification (a plus).
• OSHA 30 certification (required).
