About the position

The QA/QC Representative at Planate Management Group is responsible for overseeing construction management services, ensuring compliance with quality assurance standards, and conducting thorough inspections of complex construction projects. This role requires a seasoned professional with over 10 years of experience in construction management, field inspections, and quality assurance, focusing on contractor evaluation and adherence to safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site inspections and review reports to evaluate effectiveness and compliance.
  • Inspect complex construction projects requiring specialized technical expertise.
  • Ensure contractor compliance with schedules, plans, specifications, and workmanship standards.
  • Inspect materials, installations, and testing; address deficiencies and suggest alternative methods.
  • Review contractor quality control reports and perform quality assurance inspections per USACE standards.
  • Verify that materials and workmanship meet contract requirements during ongoing activities.
  • Participate in preparatory and initial inspections; provide Quality Assurance Reports within 24 hours.
  • Confirm site layout, elevations, and QC requirements before work begins.
  • Monitor deficiency tracking and ensure corrective actions are documented and effective.
  • Maintain records of deficiencies, field issues, and RFIs for project tracking.
  • Conduct shop inspections of offsite fabricated items to verify compliance before delivery.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of construction management and field inspection experience.
  • Proven experience in managing complex construction operations.
  • Strong technical expertise in construction scheduling, quality assurance, and safety compliance.
  • Excellent analytical skills to assess contractor claims and performance.
  • Proficiency in maintaining thorough documentation and reporting using systems like USACE Resident Management System (RMS).

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with EM 385‐1‐1 (USACE Safety and Health Requirements Manual) and 29 CFR 1926 OSHA Construction Industry Regulations.
  • Experience in reviewing and evaluating construction contractor claims for submission to the Contracting Officer.
