About the position

The QA Software Engineer position at Delinea is a key role within the Governance team, responsible for ensuring the quality of software products through automated testing. This position involves working collaboratively in an agile environment to develop and support testing suites, mentor team members, and communicate effectively with software engineers and product owners. The role is hybrid, allowing for a mix of in-office and remote work, and reports to the Manager of Software Quality.

Responsibilities

  • Work as a member of a cross functional agile team to ensure that quality is a first class focus during every delivery cycle
  • Design, develop and support automated testing suites
  • Mentor team members on test automation
  • Proactively bring issues and problems to the attention of the team
  • Be organized, detail oriented and self-motivated
  • Work closely with software engineers and product owners to ensure that all scenarios for a given feature set are properly defined and well understood
  • Capture defects and communicate the criticality of each identified issue with the team and management
  • Have a strong desire to automate all repetitive and repeatable testing activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in working in technology based organizations
  • Experience in API and UI QA automation tooling, such as Postman and Playwright
  • Knowledge of QA processes and their application in an agile delivery environment
  • Experience implementing, executing, and monitoring automated test suites
  • Proficient with issue tracking tools, such as Jira or Azure DevOps
  • Working knowledge of relational databases, such as Microsoft SQL
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with a globally-distributed team
  • Passionate about providing high-quality solutions to our customers, on-time, and on-budget
  • Familiarity with web-based security principles and best practices

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with performance testing
  • Experience with security testing tools such as Snyk or ZAP
  • Experience with multiple programming languages such as JavaScript, typescript, C#
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and Azure DevOps pipelines
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies (e.g. Azure, AWS)
  • Experience with DevOps practices (e.g. continuous integration, continuous deployment)
