About the position

Spotter Global is seeking a dedicated Software Tester to join our Quality Assurance team. As a leader in radar perimeter security solutions, we are committed to our mission of "Preventing Harm" and are looking for individuals who share our passion for innovative security technology. The Software Tester will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and functionality of our software applications. This position is an entry-level opportunity that serves as a gateway into our internal talent pipeline, providing a chance to grow within the company. In this role, you will be responsible for executing test plans and procedures to validate the quality and reliability of our software products. You will set up and test the integration of our software with various third-party applications, identifying and troubleshooting bugs and usability issues. Your collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential in designing and implementing testing solutions that enhance product quality. Additionally, you will participate in alpha and beta testing of new hardware, contributing to data collection and analysis, and occasionally working alongside QA Hardware engineers to test other hardware components. We are looking for someone who is not only technically skilled but also passionate about security technology and eager to stay updated with the latest advancements in the field. Responsibilities

  • Execute test plans and procedures to validate product quality and reliability of software
  • Set up and test integration of software with other 3rd party softwares and integrations
  • Identify and troubleshoot bugs and difficult to use features and report them back to engineering and development teams
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement testing solutions to improve product quality and reliability
  • Participate in alpha and beta testing new hardware by walking as a target to be tracked, and assist in data collection and analysis
  • Collaborate, on occasion, with QA Hardware engineers to test other hardware
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation

Requirements

  • Passion for security technology and staying up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements
  • Technical background
  • Quick learner, capable of acquiring new technology and software skills efficiently
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail
  • Driven and dependable, exhibiting strong work ethics and a commitment to meeting project deadlines and objectives

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Jira or other project based tools
  • Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
  • FAA Part 107 sUAS License
  • Experience coding with Python and Selenium for automated testing
  • Experience with networking, IT
