The QA Special Projects Lead (Business Support Analyst 3) position at the Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS) is a critical role aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of operations within the Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS). This position is located in Dekalb County, Georgia, and is designed for individuals who are passionate about public service and committed to improving the lives of vulnerable populations in Georgia. The QA Special Projects Lead will work with limited supervision to conduct complex reviews of foster care and Child Protective Services (CPS) documentation, as well as supervisory staffing and data analysis to support management decision-making. In this role, the incumbent will identify trends, discrepancies, and variances in documentation and data, which are essential for improving operational processes. The QA Special Projects Lead may collaborate with various departments, divisions, outside agencies, and vendors to address business issues effectively. This position requires a high level of independent judgment and the ability to provide strategic analysis to support the agency's mission. Additionally, the lead will assist in the orientation and training of junior team members and provide guidance to county or regional staff as needed. The responsibilities include completing detailed reviews and reports for county and regional leadership, tracking maltreatment reports, and engaging with county staff to ensure compliance with documentation requirements. The lead will also assist in data management tasks, including the use of pivot tables and charts, and will support the completion of various reviews and staffing as required. This position is integral to the operational success of the DFCS and offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the welfare of children and families in Georgia.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in child welfare.
  • Complete 1 X 7 reviews (40 cases per month) and develop detailed reports for county/regional leadership and MTAT.
  • Track screen out maltreatment in care reports and engage county staff to ensure reports are completed and uploaded.
  • Complete special reviews requested by regional or county leadership.
  • Conduct FC or CPS reviews as requested and provide supportive supervision when needed.
  • Assist with data management, including pivot tables and charts.
  • Assist in training and development of new staff or support for staff with identified deficits.
  • Assist with the completion of war room staffing and CFSR reviews when needed.
  • Provide additional support to county staff to address identified deficits.
  • Prepare and analyze operational statistics, reports, or other data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Four years of experience related to area of assignment.
  • An equivalent combination of education and job-specific experience may be substituted on a year-over-year basis.
