About the position

The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the implementation of food safety and quality policies within the production environment. This role involves close collaboration with various department managers to ensure product quality, compliance with regulatory standards, and the identification of quality-related issues. The supervisor plays a key role in maintaining documentation, conducting audits, and training staff on quality practices.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors operational processes to ensure all products meet food safety and quality requirements.
  • Updates and maintains all food safety and quality-related documentation for Crown Bakeries.
  • Completes daily verification of all quality-related operational documentation.
  • Manages assigned CBN program manuals, including documentation updates, training, and weekly audits.
  • Assists FSQA manager in co-packing relationships, including complaint responses and customer product evaluations.
  • Ensures compliance with GMP, food hygiene, and safety standards.
  • Reports any food safety incidents, including GMP violations and contamination issues.
  • Conducts job duties in a safe manner and enforces safe behaviors.
  • Monitors and verifies prerequisite programs and HACCP activities, including mock recalls and equipment calibration.
  • Collaborates with all departments to promote exceptional quality practices and mentors associates on quality programs.
  • Assists in implementing corrective actions for customer complaints and audits daily food safety and quality activities.
  • Maintains documentation for incoming supplies and assists in acquiring necessary documentation for trial materials.
  • Monitors and reports deviations regarding food safety and quality controls to drive process improvements.
  • Assists in the investigation of foreign material and HOLD-related finished products.
  • Supports manufacturing facility quality systems and participates in third-party audits.
  • Manages customer and supplier information, including specifications and COAs.
  • Completes product sensory evaluations and participates in product development projects.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe PDF.
  • HACCP certification completion is required.
  • Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP, BRC or SQF, and OSHA is necessary.
  • Must have own transportation.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, walk distances, climb, and lift up to 50lbs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to make quality decisions based on problem-solving and team interaction.
  • Experience working cross-functionally to complete tasks is required.
  • Undergraduate Degree in Agricultural Sciences, Business, Engineering, or a related field is necessary.
  • Minimum two years of supervisory experience in a food manufacturing facility or related field.
