About the position
The QA Technician position at Dearborn Sausage Company is a full-time role focused on ensuring the quality and safety of food products through microbiological testing and quality control measures. The technician will work in a wet, refrigerated environment, primarily during the AM shift, and will be responsible for various testing and documentation tasks to maintain compliance with GMP guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Obtain temperatures and release products in the production area.
- Perform microbiological method validation and testing of finished products, raw materials, and environmental samples.
- Utilize lab instrumentation in compliance with GMP guidelines and manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of testing and results.
- Communicate test findings to upper management via email, providing suggestions and guidance.
- Identify potential contamination and monitor samples from various resources.
- Collect samples from different sites as required.
Requirements
- Laboratory experience of at least 1 year.
- Associate's degree in a relevant field.
- Knowledge of GMP, quality assurance, and quality control practices.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
