About the position
The FTTH QA Technician is responsible for ensuring the quality and performance of Fiber to the Home (FTTH) installations and services. This role involves inspecting, testing, and troubleshooting fiber optic systems to maintain high standards of quality and reliability. Responsibilities
- Inspect and verify FTTH installations to ensure they meet company standards and specifications.
- Perform comprehensive testing of fiber optic cables, connectors, and equipment using specialized tools and equipment such as OTDR, power meters, and light sources.
- Maintain accurate records of test results, inspections, and any issues identified.
- Generate detailed reports on the quality and performance of FTTH installations.
- Ensure all installations comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve quality issues in a timely manner.
- Communicate with customers to address concerns and provide technical support related to FTTH services.
- Provide training and guidance to installation teams on best practices for FTTH installations and quality assurance processes.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance the overall quality and efficiency of FTTH installations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in fiber optics or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in fiber optic installation, testing, and quality assurance.
- Proficiency in using fiber optic testing equipment such as OTDR, power meters, and light sources.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of the job.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT) or equivalent are a plus.
