About the position

The QA Technician - Game Tester position at Design Works Studios LLC is an entry-level role focused on game testing and software quality assurance. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the quality and functionality of casino gaming software through various testing methods, including defect and regression testing. The position involves analyzing customer usage data and reviewing internal processes for improvement, contributing to the overall enhancement of gaming products.

Responsibilities

• Conduct defect and bug testing on gaming software.
• Perform regression testing on new releases and features.
• Attend daily stand-up meetings to discuss testing progress and issues.
• Test new games across multiple platforms including mobile devices.
• Analyze data from customer usage to identify patterns and areas for improvement.
• Review internal processes for potential enhancements.

Requirements

• Strong analytical skills to identify patterns and reproduce issues.
• Excellent communication skills for clear interaction within the team and across departments.
• Technical proficiency in operating various browsers and debugging tools.
• Intermediate knowledge of multiple operating systems including iOS, Linux, OSX, Windows, Android, and Unix.
• Experience with mobile device testing and debugging.

Nice-to-haves

• Tier 2 Technical Support experience.
• Advanced problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of compliance testing in regulated industries.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as JavaScript, SQL, HTML, or RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with casino gaming and slot machines.
• Experience with Jira or other bug/task tracking software.
• Familiarity with Scrum and Agile methodologies.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of statistics, especially combinatorics.
• Business analyst experience.
• Understanding of IT networking, including LANs and WANs.
