As a QA Test Analyst at Nasdaq, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. Your primary responsibilities will include creating, executing, and maintaining tests according to established test scripts and plans. You will be required to test both front-end and back-end software components, applying industry best practices to ensure that our software meets or exceeds specified standards and client requirements. This position involves reviewing system requirements and business processes, coding, testing, and debugging software solutions, and reporting any issues found back to the development and project management teams. In this role, you will also be expected to develop and maintain testing tools that can be utilized by the broader team. You may specialize in areas such as Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or Process Improvement. Conducting a range of quality control tests and analyses under direct supervision will be part of your daily tasks, ensuring that software adheres to development specifications. You will create test data files with both valid and invalid records to test program logic and verify system flow. As you grow in this position, you will learn to collaborate with internal and external team members to plan various test phases, ensuring that all applicable phases are successfully completed and documented. You will be coached to develop a plan for problem resolution and maintain the quality of products and processes, including standard procedures and quality audits. Adaptability and a learning mindset are essential, as you will be expected to learn new technologies, tools, and methodologies while adapting to changing project requirements. Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python or Java, along with knowledge of scripting languages like Bash or PowerShell, will be crucial for your success in this role.
