About the position

This position involves working with a team to prepare applications for a web-based rollout using an updated tool. The role focuses on evaluating and testing new or modified software programs to ensure they meet user requirements and established guidelines. The candidate will participate in consultations with clients, plan and design tests, and document the evaluation and testing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and test new or modified software programs and procedures.
  • Participate in initial and ongoing consultation with clients to understand project scope and changes.
  • Plan, design, and author effective tests using various methods of input.
  • Perform specific tests from an end-user's perspective.
  • Run tests prepared by self and others.
  • Use the software being tested to determine performance results, reliability, bugs, and failures.
  • Gain a working knowledge of overall operations and applicable guidelines.
  • Adapt to new testing software that may be implemented.
  • Write documentation to describe program evaluation, testing, and correction.
  • Work with diverse groups (QA group, developers, BAs, PMs, vendors) and develop strong working relationships.
  • Demonstrate strong written communication skills, including writing clear defect/bug reports.
  • Demonstrate strong oral communication skills in a professional manner.
  • Examine, investigate, and research solutions in a professional manner.
  • Utilize strong analytical skills focusing on both systems and overall structure.
  • Learn and work on a variety of computer systems.
  • Work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Manage work priorities under pressure, tight deadlines, and changing priorities.

Requirements

  • Several years of testing and/or software development experience (Agile preferred).
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Basic insurance knowledge is helpful.
  • Associates degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience and training.
