About the position

The QA Tester at Excelacom plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and performance of the systems under test. This position involves working closely with development teams to enhance and maintain applications and the services that support them. The QA Tester is responsible for debugging and troubleshooting daily issues, analyzing non-functional requirements, and translating functional requirements into actionable test cases. The role requires a strong analytical approach to identify defects and drive them to resolution, ultimately contributing to the optimization of system performance and risk reduction. As an Analyst-Level QA Tester, you will be expected to contribute to the development of recommendations and provide meaningful input into client deliverables and proposals. This includes conducting research, collecting data, and performing both quantitative and qualitative analyses to support business solutions. You will also have opportunities to work on various projects throughout your career with Excelacom, which may involve productizing work, contributing to the Center of Excellence, and assisting in proposals to clients. Responsibilities

  • Test and validate the quality of the system under test to reduce risk and optimize performance.
  • Work closely with development teams to enhance and maintain applications and services.
  • Debug and troubleshoot daily issues that arise during testing.
  • Analyze non-functional requirements and technical designs to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Translate functional requirements into detailed test cases and identify defects for resolution.
  • Contribute to the development of recommendations and provide input into client deliverables and proposals.
  • Conduct research, collect data, and perform quantitative and qualitative analyses to support business solutions.
  • Occasionally assist in productizing Excelacom's work and contribute to the Center of Excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Strong math, written, and verbal communication skills with an analytical approach.
  • Ability to interact cross-functionally with various levels of management and peers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team-based environment.
  • 3-5+ years of testing experience in a relevant field.
  • Experience with defining test requirements, test planning, and test execution in large transformation programs with Telecom clients.
  • Experience in developing and executing test cases, scripts, plans, and procedures (both manual and automated).
  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and QA Methodology.
  • Knowledge of agile principles, values, best practices, and tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience in Telecommunications, Media, or Cable is highly preferred.
  • Experience in a professional office environment.
  • Relevant internship experience.
  • Basic understanding of SQL.
  • 2+ years of experience within the telecom industry.
  • Specific Mobile or Wireless experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in mobile platforms like iOS and Android.
  • Experience working with client-server architecture and web services.
  • Experience with LTE, VOLTE, IMS, Wi-Fi telephony, and messaging technologies.
