About the position

The QA Tester/Analyst will be responsible for driving the overall QA planning, tracking, and reporting for various projects, ensuring successful implementation of test strategies and plans. This role involves executing test lifecycle deliverables according to standard methodologies and procedures, with a focus on testing custom applications and GIS components. The position is hybrid, requiring local candidates from the Metro Atlanta area, and is subject to annual budget restrictions.

Responsibilities

  • Drive overall QA planning, tracking, and reporting for projects.
  • Create and document test plans, test scenarios, and test cases.
  • Execute tests, analyze results, and report problems and anomalies.
  • Interact actively with various teams to understand business requirements.
  • Ensure test cases are properly formulated and follow QA standards.
  • Work collaboratively with business partners, PMO, and vendor technical delivery teams.
  • Ensure timely software testing and notify management about bottlenecks and risks.
  • Assist in the development of UAT test scenarios leveraging test cases.
  • Participate in defect triage meetings and demos.
  • Report weekly status to the Quality Assurance Testing Lead.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or a similar field.
  • At least three years of experience in software testing projects.
  • Experience in mid-scale or large-scale system development projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to review and analyze system specifications.
  • Experience in manual and/or automated testing using supported tools.
  • Ability to create and modify test cases for accurate test coverage.
  • Experience in documenting Requirement Traceability Matrices (RTM).
  • Experience with GitHub, ServiceNow, TFS, and JIRA.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with mobile device testing.
  • Familiarity with defect management tools (TFS / JIRA).
  • Experience in public sector projects.
  • Preferred training or software testing certifications such as ISTQB, CSTE, or CAST.
