About the position

The QA Tester I is responsible for testing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that products meet quality standards before they are released. This role involves testing in both lab and production environments from a customer perspective, which requires a keen understanding of user requirements and expectations. The QA Tester I will create test plans based on business and functional requirements, develop test cases tailored to client specifications, and execute both manual and automated test cases. In addition to executing tests, the QA Tester I will manage and triage defects, providing detailed reports on testing outcomes. A basic understanding of backend infrastructure and design is essential, as is the ability to troubleshoot issues that arise during testing. The role also requires the QA Tester I to provide daily and weekly status reports to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the testing process. Familiarity with mobile devices, including iPhone, Android, and Windows, is crucial for this position, as testing will often involve these platforms. The QA Tester I must follow established client processes and procedures for reporting and testing, ensuring that all test documentation is archived as directed. This position may require night and weekend work based on client needs, as well as the ability to work internationally for roaming testing. The QA Tester I will also need to be adaptable, as the work environment may shift between remote and onsite testing depending on project requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Create test plans based on business and functional requirements
  • Develop test cases to client specifications
  • Execute manual and automated test cases
  • Manage and triage defects
  • Troubleshoot issues experienced during testing
  • Provide daily and weekly status reporting
  • Understand requirements for testing
  • Follow written and verbal instructions from the client and leads
  • Utilize JIRA for test case management, creation, and execution
  • Utilize Quality Center for test case management, creation, and execution
  • Follow established client processes and procedures for reporting and testing
  • Archive all test documentation as directed
  • Perform domestic and international roaming testing
  • Work onsite at the client site for deployments as required

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or general equivalent
  • 0-2 years of experience executing manual and automated test cases preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Ability to travel between multiple sites during the workday at the discretion of the customer
  • Ability to work on Saturdays and Sundays as needed for projects
  • Ability to have a flexible schedule and work early/late as needed for the project
  • Willingness to travel 25% of the time domestically and internationally
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex problems quickly and creatively
  • Experience with client-server systems and understanding the types of issues that may arise
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and team player
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities
  • Ability to collaborate with team members and clients to meet project deadlines and milestones
  • Understanding of common Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile/SCRUM
  • Understanding of SOAP UI for test execution and SIM activation
