About the position

The QA Tester III is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of both lab and production testing from a customer perspective. The QA Tester III will design, develop, and create testing protocols for computer systems or programs based on business, client, and functional requirements. The role demands a high degree of theoretical knowledge and practical application in computer systems and programming, particularly in relation to mobile devices such as iPhone, Android, and Windows operating systems and applications. In this role, the QA Tester III will execute both manual and automated test cases, create and manage systems or software defects, and troubleshoot technical issues that arise during testing. A strong understanding of backend computer system infrastructure and program design is essential. The tester will utilize tools such as JIRA and Quality Center for test case management, ensuring that all reporting and testing adhere to established client processes and procedures. Daily and weekly status reporting is a critical component of this position, as is the ability to work remotely for roaming testing when necessary. The QA Tester III must be prepared for night and weekend work to meet client or project requirements, demonstrating strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively. This position operates in a professional office environment, with 25% of the time spent onsite at the client site for deployments, and may require 100% onsite presence depending on project needs.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and create testing for computer systems or programs based on business, client, and functional requirements.
  • Execute manual and automated test cases.
  • Create, analyze, manage, and triage systems or software defects.
  • Troubleshoot technical system or software issues experienced during testing.
  • Provide daily and weekly status reporting.
  • Ensure reporting and testing meets established client processes and procedures.
  • Accurately archive all test documentation on Denali Point site.
  • Work remotely internationally or domestically for roaming testing.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or general equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in software testing.
  • Strong understanding of common Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile/SCRUM.
  • Demonstrated experience with client-server systems and understanding of technical issues that may arise in a testing environment.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex problems quickly and creatively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency of JIRA for test case management, creation, and execution.
  • Strong understanding of iPhone, Android, and Windows mobile devices, operating systems, and applications.
  • Experience with SOAP UI for test execution and SIM activation.
