We are seeking a smart individual who excels in communication, debugging, and possesses strong organizational skills. The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable in using photo applications and have a solid understanding of the Mac operating system. This position involves testing digital desktop software on the Mac, requiring thorough knowledge of Mac OS X and excellent debugging skills, including the ability to install the OS, image machines, and update firmware. The candidate must be able to multitask in a fast-paced and dynamic environment while maintaining high-quality standards. They should be capable of focusing on assignments and delivering quality results with minimal outside direction. The new team member will be responsible for the daily screening of customer feedback. Day-to-day activities will include gathering data from customer issues, verifying these issues in-house, and collaborating closely with team members to assist in resolving them. The role will consist of isolation and regression testing while working alongside a large team of like-minded professionals in a fast-paced environment. Strong candidates will already know and understand Software Quality Assurance (SQA) methodology or technical troubleshooting of software applications, particularly in the context of digital media acquisition and editing on the Mac. A working familiarity with basic bug workflow in software applications is essential, as is a general knowledge of FileMaker Pro database and basic scripting. The position requires the ability to work calmly with customers, displaying a high level of patience during interactions. The candidate will serve as a voice for our client's Engineering team, making professionalism and intelligence pivotal for this role. An extensive user-level understanding of the modern Mac OS X operating system, along with experience in corresponding desktop and mobile hardware, is required. General experience with software for digital still-image management and manipulation is beneficial, as is familiarity with standard digital photo file formats such as JPEG and RAW. Testing experience with the entire workflow associated with shooting, importing, evaluating, editing, sorting, and sharing digital images is also desired. A self-directing individual who can work towards team goals, especially when information or direction is subject to change, will thrive in this role. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, and the candidate must be able to produce thorough written documentation of progress at short notice. A flexible attitude and a positive personality will be key to tying it all together and enabling success.
