About the position

The QA Tester position at Information Gateways is a critical role responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software products across multiple teams, products, and platforms. The individual in this role will perform comprehensive software quality assurance (QA) functions, which include reviewing test strategies for various software workstreams within the project. The QA Tester will be tasked with testing software programs to ensure they meet specified requirements and documentation standards. This involves identifying, analyzing, and documenting defects, errors, and inconsistencies in software program functions, outputs, and content, particularly within the Salesforce (SF) solution. In addition to defect identification, the QA Tester will recommend program improvements or revisions to programmers and system analysts. The role requires active participation in the software quality assurance efforts across various workstreams, encouraging the development of new test strategies, and maintaining a continuous improvement environment aimed at enhancing quality and efficiency. Strong communication skills are essential, as the QA Tester will need to collaborate effectively across departments and divisions to conduct needs analysis, requirements gathering, and operational planning. The QA Tester will ensure the delivery of high-quality products while adhering to agile software development practices. Responsibilities will also include reviewing test plans, test results, risk analysis, and release documentation. The individual will collaborate with both internal and external customers, recommending solutions and best practices. Additionally, the QA Tester will assist in facilitating User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with the Operational Community, end users, and Product Leads, ensuring that the software meets user expectations and requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform software quality assurance (QA) functions across multiple teams, products, and platforms.
  • Review test strategies for multiple software workstreams within the project.
  • Test software programs to compare to specifications and documentation.
  • Identify, analyze, and document defects, errors, and inconsistencies in software program functions, outputs, and content across the SF solution.
  • Recommend program improvements or revisions to programmers and system analysts.
  • Participate in software quality assurance efforts across various workstreams.
  • Encourage the development of new test strategies and maintain a continuous improvement environment.
  • Maintain strong communication across departments and divisions for needs analysis, requirements, and operational planning.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality products while adhering to agile software development practices.
  • Review test plans, test results, risk analysis, and release documentation.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal/external customers and recommend solutions and best practices.
  • Assist in the facilitation of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with the Operational Community, end users, and Product Leads.

Requirements

  • Minimum bachelor's degree required.
  • Skilled in creating user stories, test plans, test cases, and test results reports.
  • Proven knowledge of test types and strategies, including unit, integration, system, end-user, performance, stress, endurance, non-functional, negative/fuzz, manual and automated testing.
  • Adept with distributed application models, system integration, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent documentation skills and experience operating under document control.
  • Experience in Jira for backlog and workflow management and defect management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of automated testing frameworks, goals, limitations, and strategies desired.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment utilizing associated project and test toolsets preferred.
  • Experience with Salesforce (SF) strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Army / DOD strongly preferred.
