About the position

2K is a global video game company headquartered in Novato, California, and is a wholly owned label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. Founded in 2005, 2K Games publishes titles developed by some of the most influential game development studios in the world. The company is known for its portfolio of elite games across multiple platforms, including popular franchises such as NBA 2K, BioShock, and Borderlands. The QA Tester position is a temporary role based in Las Vegas, NV, where the individual will be responsible for testing video game titles on various consoles, PCs, and handheld devices to identify software errors and document them in a test database. This role is crucial in ensuring the quality and playability of the games before they are released to the public. As a QA Tester, you will be expected to find defects in the software using established testing methods, accurately complete assigned test cases, and enter detailed bugs into the bug database. You will also be responsible for regressing fixed bugs on each release and providing insights into the playability of the titles. The position requires a positive attitude and the ability to work effectively in a team environment, as well as the reliability to work all scheduled shifts, including mandatory overtime during the work week, weekends, and occasional holidays. This is a temporary assignment that may last up to 12 months, reporting to the Lead and/or QA Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Test video game titles on various consoles, PCs, and handhelds to check for software errors.
  • Find defects in the software using established testing methods.
  • Accurately complete all assigned test cases.
  • Enter detailed but concise bugs into the bug database.
  • Regress fixed bugs on each release.
  • Provide insights into the playability of a title.
  • Serve as a positive role model in terms of work performance, demeanor, and attendance.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 18 years and above.
  • Technically proficient with PCs and gaming consoles.
  • Digital literacy, specifically in MS Word, Outlook, and Database Software.
  • Ability to test both 2D and 3D games repeatedly while listening and looking for bugs.
  • Ability to test using handheld gaming devices and various other gaming platforms.
  • Reliable and can be counted on to work all scheduled shifts.
  • Capable of working any mandatory overtime, which can occur during the work week, weekends, and occasional holidays.
  • Must be able to communicate successfully in English, in both written and oral forms.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time and occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.

  • Testing experience with multiple games on multiple platforms.
