The QA Tester position at IIT involves a comprehensive role in ensuring the quality and functionality of software applications through rigorous testing strategies. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in all phases of Functional Testing, which includes analyzing and interpreting business requirement documents (BRDs) and use cases in unified modeling language (UML) for testability and inconsistencies. The role requires participation in Joint Application Development sessions, where the tester will seek clarification from business analysts as needed. Documenting and implementing application test plans, identifying test cases, writing and executing test scripts, and identifying and analyzing application problems are key responsibilities. Effective communication of these issues to the development team is crucial for the success of the project. The candidate should also have experience with HP/Microfocus Application Lifecycle Management and its prior versions, such as Quality Center and Test Director. Proficiency in HP Quick Test Professional (QTP) and HP Unified Functional Testing (UFT) is essential for developing and maintaining automated scripts used for regression testing. The QA Tester will be responsible for planning, designing, developing, and executing test strategies based on software specifications for web-based applications within a large, complex, and diverse Human Services delivery system, which may include Federal, State, or local government projects. In addition to testing, the candidate should have experience as a test lead, providing direction and training to other project team members. A minimum of 2 years of experience using SQL and SOAP UI is required, along with exposure to Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) or HP Quality Center for identifying, documenting, tracking, and communicating problems to technical staff. Familiarity with HP LoadRunner or Performance Center for load and performance testing is also beneficial.
