About the position

The QA Tester position at ALTA IT Services involves performing integration, regression, and functional testing on systems to ensure compliance with system requirements and the client's business practices and policies. This role is critical in assisting with the analysis of functional and technical requirements, as well as the creation and editing of test cases for new or modified systems. The QA Tester will assist in leading basic to complex tasks that require moderate to considerable scope and latitude, ensuring that all testing processes are efficient and effective. In this role, the QA Tester will be responsible for certifying that system testing is complete and ready for production. This includes creating and editing test cases in accordance with system requirements, as well as creating, modifying, and locating the necessary data and conditions to execute these test cases. The QA Tester will also identify areas for improved testing processes and will be responsible for modifying, coordinating, and scheduling input to maintain the test environments. Reporting on testing activity, including time spent, testing time lost, and discrepancies found, is also a key responsibility of this position. The QA Tester will work both independently and as part of a team, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to present findings, conclusions, alternatives, and information clearly and concisely. This position is 100% remote, providing flexibility while ensuring that the QA Tester can effectively contribute to the team and the overall success of the projects they are involved in.

Responsibilities

  • Certify system testing complete & ready for production
  • Create and edit test cases in accordance with system requirements
  • Create, modify and/or locate the data and conditions needed to execute test cases
  • Identify areas for improved testing processes
  • Modify, coordinate and schedule input to maintain the test environments
  • Report testing activity including time spent, testing time lost and discrepancies found

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Experience in testing complex systems including various platforms
  • Advanced knowledge of development or operations framework methodologies, including Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), etc.
  • Effective skills with Azure Dev Ops
  • Knowledge of APIs and testing of APIs
  • Experience with database testing
  • Effective skill presenting findings, conclusions, alternatives, and information clearly and concisely
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor Degree in Information Technology or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
