About the position

PSNI is seeking a full-time QA Tester to join their Engineering team. The role involves executing software testing for web-based applications, collaborating with the QA Lead and developers to ensure that applications meet user needs and comply with regulatory standards. The QA Tester will engage with an Agile scrum team, developing an understanding of the QA process and contributing to the overall mission of enhancing the health of K-12 students nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Execute functional test cases to ensure the system is robust and fit for purpose.
• Perform testing assignments assigned by test leads/manager.
• Ensure software applications or systems meet technical and functional requirements.
• Collaborate with the development team under pressure.
• Identify, record, document, and track bugs.
• Help facilitate execution of acceptance test cases by end users.
• Work closely with QA Lead, developers, and end users throughout the software life cycle.
• Participate in all ceremonies related to agile development (daily stand-up, grooming, retrospective, etc.).

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 1+ years' experience in formal system and functional software testing within an SDLC/software development environment.
• Good communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and on a team.
• Skilled in analyzing and reviewing requirements to understand system/software functionality.
• Knowledge and understanding of formal software testing types and concepts.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent analytical thinking skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with TestRail and/or Jira is a plus.
• Experience with agile development is a plus.
• Internship or CO-OP with software or system testing in a similar industry is a plus.
• Experience with SQL: 1 year (Preferred).
• Experience with Selenium: 1 year (Preferred).
• Experience with Test automation: 1 year (Preferred).
