QA Tester

About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive QA Tester to join our quality assurance team. The QA Tester will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and functionality of our software products through rigorous testing and analysis. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong understanding of software development and testing methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for functional, regression, and performance testing.
• Perform User Interface (UI), Integration, Application Interface (API) and end to end testing.
• Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies.
• Collaborate with the development team to understand project requirements and specifications.
• Perform manual and automated testing on various software applications and platforms.
• Analyze test results, identify trends, and report findings to the development team.
• Verify fixes and conduct retesting to ensure issues are resolved.
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on design and implementation.
• Maintain and update test documentation, including test plans and test cases.
• Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance software quality.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in QA practices and tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a QA Tester or in a similar role.
• Familiarity with various testing methodologies and types, including functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
• Proficiency in using test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).
• Experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Cucumber, QTP, BDD).
• Requirement/user story analysis for test case creation.
• Basic software testing experience with TcpDump, TCPIP, HTML, XML.
• Oracle Data Base/SQL query development for testing.
• Experience in web services using REST / Soap.
• Rudimentary Linux experience (e.g. login, navigate directory/file structure, view log files, transfer and extract log files etc.).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of TR-069, OMA-DM, LWM2M protocols and Over The Air (OTA) updates.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, or Java Script.
• ISTQB or similar certification.
