About the position

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a QA Tester to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and functionality of our software products. The QA Tester will be responsible for a variety of tasks aimed at identifying and resolving defects, as well as improving overall product performance. This position is Hybrid 3 days a week on site in Merrifield, VA.

Responsibilities

  • Review Requirements: Thoroughly review project requirements and specifications to ensure a clear understanding of the product and its functionality. Proactively ask questions to clarify any ambiguities.
  • Create Test Scenarios/Test scripts: Develop comprehensive test scenarios and test scripts based on requirements to cover all possible use cases and edge cases.
  • Execute Test Scenarios/ Test scripts: Perform manual testing according to the designed test scenarios and test scripts to ensure the product meets the desired quality standards.
  • Review Debug Logs: Analyze debug logs to identify the root cause of defects and assist in troubleshooting issues.
  • Document and Track Defects: Create detailed documentation for identified defects, including steps to reproduce, severity, and impact. Follow up with the development team to ensure timely resolution.
  • Verify Defect Fixes: Re-test resolved defects to ensure fixes are effective and do not introduce new issues.
  • Review Design Documents: Provide feedback on design documents to ensure they meet quality and functionality standards.
  • Troubleshoot Production Defects: Investigate and resolve defects found in production to minimize impact on end-users.
  • Handle Multiple Tasks: Efficiently manage and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of testing or software related working experience.
  • Mobile Device Testing: Experience with testing on mobile devices, including iOS and Android platforms.
  • Experience in automation testing, including developing and executing automation test scripts using Python and Selenium, and familiarity with IDEs, particularly PyCharm Community Edition (CE), or similar tools.
  • Attention to detail and a methodical approach to testing.
  • Experience with manual and automated testing tools.
  • Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Multi-tasking Abilities: Capable of managing several projects and responsibilities at once.
