About the position

The QA Testing Analyst is responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of software applications through comprehensive testing strategies. This role involves planning, executing, and documenting testing processes while collaborating with various teams to meet project objectives. The position requires a strong understanding of testing methodologies and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, providing expertise in specific systems.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the planning, integration, test casing, scripting, and execution of all testing to ensure proper coverage.
  • Schedules and leads test deliverables review sessions as necessary.
  • Works on multiple projects/systems as a project team member and serves as a subject matter expert for a single project/system.
  • Collaborates with the BSA and Development teams in the analysis and review of business objectives and requirements to ensure they are testable.
  • Actively participates in the review of architectural and technical design specifications.
  • Develops, documents, and maintains test data, data validation, and end-to-end testing flows.
  • Runs database queries to supply data validation within test scripts.
  • Updates test cases based upon approved change requests.
  • Works with BSAs and Development teams on defect analysis and triage, assigning defect severity and managing defects throughout the project.
  • Creates test status reports per project guidelines and test results and summary deliverables to ensure production implementation readiness.
  • Facilitates the review of the Test Strategy with the project team and identifies potential quality issues, escalating them to management.
  • Collects testing sign-off from all testing participants, including cross-impacted application teams.
  • Ensures all aspects of testing, such as manual execution, regression, automation, and performance testing, are completed.
  • Collaborates with Project Test Lead on estimating test efforts and supports UAT efforts as needed.
  • Maintains the regression test bed to meet changing requirements and participates in off-hour production releases as needed.
  • Provides mentorship to junior team members as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience in QA testing methodologies and processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with database queries for data validation.
  • Familiarity with test case management and defect tracking tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with automation testing tools.
  • Knowledge of performance testing methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
