About the position

The Quality Assurance Engineer position focuses on enabling independent authors and publishers to publish their content as eBooks and paperbacks for distribution on Amazon's platforms. The role involves collaborating with software development teams to ensure high-quality software delivery through effective testing methodologies, including manual and automated testing. The engineer will work with various stakeholders to develop test plans that reflect real-world usage and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Software Development Engineers to understand features and technical implementation.
• Work with Product Management, User Interaction, and Customer Support to understand customer usage models.
• Develop test plans and suites that approximate real-world environments.
• Conduct manual and automated testing, including UI and API testing.
• Handle backend automation with a focus on functional and non-functional testing, including load, performance, and chaos testing.
• Utilize AWS services and internal resources to implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• 3+ years of quality assurance engineering experience.
• Experience in manual testing.
• Experience in automation testing.
• Experience in UI and API automation testing using tools like Selenium and SOAPUI.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in Java, Perl, or Python based automation.
• Experience designing and planning test conditions, test scripts, and test data sets for adequate coverage.
