About The Position

The QC Analyst position is a direct hire full-time role within the Quality Control Microbiology group at Kelly Services, located in Winston Salem, NC. The role requires industry experience in a pharmaceutical cGMP regulated environment, with a focus on environmental monitoring. The QC Analyst will be responsible for ensuring compliance with quality control standards and procedures, as well as mentoring new staff and maintaining accurate documentation.

Requirements

  • BS in Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related science discipline is required.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in a laboratory setting.
  • Ability to exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices.
  • Proficient in reading, understanding, and following SOPs and schedules.
  • Strong knowledge of cGMP and GLP practices.
  • Independent worker with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
  • Proficient with computer software, including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Perform weekly environmental monitoring and oversee post-sampling incubation and enumeration of plates.
  • Follow and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist in training and mentoring new staff to ensure smooth onboarding and competency.
  • Set up and operate quality control equipment, including cell counters, centrifuges, and analytical balances, and coordinate maintenance with facility personnel.
  • Participate in deviation and Out of Limit (OOL) investigations and compile necessary data for internal investigations.
  • Revise and review approved documents such as SOPs, testing forms, and MS forms for accuracy and completeness.
  • Complete routine transactions in the ERP system, including material requisitions and submission of purchase requests for outside testing labs.
  • Communicate with external testing labs regarding delays or issues with test reports and sample submissions.
  • Maintain GMP documentation, including testing forms and logbooks, in compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies, rules, and regulations, and promote a safety-conscious culture within the team.
