About the position

The QC Chemist I position at American Regent, Inc. involves performing analytical activities to support the testing of finished products and raw materials in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs). The role requires executing various chemical and analytical methods to assess the quality of pharmaceuticals, maintaining accurate lab records, and ensuring adherence to safety and health regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine testing on raw materials and finished product pharmaceuticals in compliance with cGMPs.
• Execute wet chemical and analytical methods to assess the purity, potency, and stability of drug substances and finished products.
• Assist in the identification of synthetic impurities and potential degradation products using chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques.
• Perform analytical analysis using HPLC, GC, UV/VIS, and FTIR.
• Create and maintain accurate lab record documentation.
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory instrumentation.
• Ensure all work is performed and documented in accordance with company policies, procedures, and health and safety requirements.
• Perform any other tasks or duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• B.S. in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, or a related field required.
• Knowledge and familiarity with HPLC/GC instrumentation, Atomic Absorption, UV/Vis, and FT/IR Spectrophotometers.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and oral) required.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
