About the position

The QC Inspector / CMM Programmer position at Wells Manufacturing involves ensuring the quality of machined components through inspection and programming of CMM equipment. The role is critical in maintaining high standards of quality control in a precision CNC machine shop, contributing to the company's reputation for reliability and excellence in service.

Responsibilities

• Program Zeiss CMM to create part inspection programs
• Complete 100% documented FAI's of machined components
• Conduct in-process and final inspections as required by WO
• Aid machinists in setting up on machine gaging processes
• Notify machinists of inspection results
• Visually inspect parts
• Randomly conduct 100% dimensional inspection of parts in process
• Maintain records as required by QMS
• Maintain NCR log and segregate parts according to disposition
• Maintain gage list
• Prepare customer QC documents as required by WO

Requirements

• Read/Interpret manufacturing drawings and specifications
• CMM Programming experience
• Experience with Optical Comparator
• Proficient in using calipers, bore gages, micrometers, height gage, profilometer, thread gages, etc.
• Knowledge of GD&T
• Ability to communicate with machinists to resolve measurement discrepancies and discuss inspection results
• Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 QMS
