About the position

The QC Inspector position at Rotork involves performing inspection operations on purchased and production parts and assemblies under technical supervision. The role requires working from blueprints, sketches, and specifications to ensure quality standards are met. The inspector will utilize precision measuring instruments and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to conduct inspections and layouts, while also being responsible for reporting any issues and recommending improvements in inspection tooling.

Responsibilities

• Make layouts of materials and parts.
• Return parts for rework or hold parts for disposition by others.
• Plan and make required inspection setups.
• Set up, calibrate and use all necessary precision measuring instruments.
• Report all operating and tooling difficulties to immediate supervisor.
• Run Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) as required.
• Perform calculations including trigonometric solutions of triangles as necessary for layouts and inspection.
• Perform layouts and inspections of tools, fixtures, and gages as required.
• Review operations and make recommendations for inspection tooling.
• Observe use of tools and gages and report any misuse.
• Responsible for the work performed.
• Using problem solving techniques and working with supervision, plan and implement continuous improvement activities.
• Instruct lower-graded inspectors.

Requirements

• Associates in QC Engineering, Mechatronics, or Engineering.
• Understand how to read blueprints, use caliper and micrometer, and be able to perform trigonometry calculations.
