In your future role as QC Technician III, you will conduct routine wet chemistry and instrumental analyses on in-process, final shipment samples, and raw materials to ensure top-notch quality. You will work closely with the production team to troubleshoot and resolve any quality issues that arise. Your tasks will include performing wet chemistry analyses, handling GC instrumental analysis, reviewing and calculating routine analytical data, maintaining a safe work environment, and leading projects like MSA studies. You will also train other lab technicians and analyze high-purity metal alkyls using ICP and NMR spectroscopy.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine wet chemistry and instrumental analyses on in-process, final shipment samples, and raw materials.
  • Work closely with the production team to troubleshoot and resolve quality issues.
  • Perform wet chemistry analyses including weighing alkyls and alkyl solutions, titrating hydrolyzed samples, and preparing reagents.
  • Handle GC instrumental analysis, including analyzing neat alkyls for gas composition and testing solvents for purity.
  • Review and calculate routine analytical data for accuracy using MES software.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment following safety practices and good housekeeping habits.
  • Participate in plant/analytical safety programs.
  • Review and release analytical reports and shipping certificates of analysis (COAs).
  • Lead projects like MSA studies and document work as directed by lab supervision.
  • Train other lab technicians on instrument maintenance.
  • Analyze high-purity metal alkyls using ICP and NMR spectroscopy.

Requirements

  • AA in Chemical Technology, BA, or BS in Chemistry or related science, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 20 hours of college science coursework.
  • 4-8 years in a production environment, ideally in the petrochemical lab industry.
  • Experience operating the Spectro Arcos or Thermo iCAP ICP system.
  • Familiarity with Chromeleon software (Thermo FS).
  • Strong understanding of modern analytical chemistry, wet chemistry, and GC analysis.
  • Comfortable with basic lab automation and using computers.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
  • Ability to collaborate well with other teams and departments.
  • Comfortable working independently when needed.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a petrochemical lab environment.
