About the position

The QC Technician role at Day-Lee Foods is focused on ensuring product quality meets company standards. This position involves monitoring food handling practices, performing record-keeping, and verifying compliance with HACCP and other production processes. The technician will support various aspects of the Quality department, including inspections and maintaining a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor proper food handling, GMP's, and SSOPs.
• Perform record keeping and verification of HACCP and production processes.
• Conduct batter viscosity tests and check internal temperatures of product lines.
• Check filling weights and internal temperatures of each product line.
• Calibrate metal detectors, thermometers, and x-ray machines.
• Inspect printed film and labeling for compliance.
• Perform temperature checks of coolers, freezers, and blast freezers.
• Conduct operational sanitation checks throughout the plant.
• Ensure products meet cooling or other CCP's requirements.
• Perform HACCP CCP's inspection and verification accordingly.
• Measure seasoning using updated batch sheets.
• Inspect wood pallets and finished products.
• Conduct pre-operational sanitation inspections throughout the plant.
• Perform sanitation swabs as needed.
• Inspect incoming materials and finished products upon shipment.
• Stop production lines as needed for quality control.
• Report any problems or deficiencies to the supervisor.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Requirements

• Ability to read and write in English.
• Experience with common desktop software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and email.
• Ability to perform repetitive adjustments on machines.
• Physical ability to climb, bend, and lift as required.

Nice-to-haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in quality control preferred.
