About the position
The QIDP Surveyor position is a full-time role focused on ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations in Texas intermediate care facilities. The surveyor conducts on-site inspections, investigates incidents of abuse and neglect, and assesses facilities' adherence to state and federal laws. Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site licensure inspections and investigations of complaints and incidents.
- Perform annual comprehensive surveys to assess compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Communicate findings clearly with facility staff and assist in developing corrective action plans.
- Complete detailed inspection reports outlining deficiencies and recommended remedies.
- Verify correction of previously cited regulatory violations during facility visits.
- Perform quality assurance reviews of documents prepared by others.
- Testify at hearings or court proceedings as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a human service field such as sociology, social work, or psychology.
- At least one year of experience working directly with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding long-term care facilities.
- Ability to operate personal computers and software for report writing.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience assessing and implementing active treatment and health care services for individuals with disabilities.
- Experience explaining and overseeing compliance with state and federal licensure regulations.
