About the position

The Senior Solution Architect for Salesforce Billing plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality solutions for clients, focusing on Salesforce Billing projects. This position involves translating business requirements into effective solutions, leading sales pursuits, and providing expert technical assistance. The architect will also mentor junior team members and ensure project outcomes align with client expectations, all while contributing to a diverse and inclusive team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical leader for Salesforce Billing projects onsite at client locations
  • Translate business requirements into well-architected solutions that leverage the Salesforce Billing platform
  • Lead sales pursuits related to Salesforce Billing or other Billing opportunities
  • Provide detailed level of effort estimates for proposed solutions
  • Articulate the benefits and risks to a solution's feasibility and functionality
  • Provide hands-on, expert-level technical assistance to developers
  • Follow and understand new Salesforce product and technical capabilities
  • Provide expertise during sales efforts to estimate the technical level of effort
  • Present to potential clients during sales efforts and create quick proof of concepts
  • Participate in marketing events such as sales meetings and Dreamforce events
  • Demonstrate thought leadership through publishing, public speaking, and client presentations
  • Coach and mentor junior technical and functional team members
  • Lead or participate in technical integration discussions and design workshops
  • Create high-level architecture diagrams for both technical and business audiences
  • Optimize product configurations to match client billing requirements
  • Provide guidance and best-in-class billing strategies to clients
  • Act as the solution owner during projects, ensuring scope and outcomes are on track
  • Interview candidates

Requirements

  • 7+ years of CRM industry experience and/or CPQ/Billing implementation experience
  • 3+ successful Salesforce Billing implementations as the Lead Solutions Architect
  • Understanding of Salesforce CPQ and its relationship to Salesforce Billing
  • Pre-sales or sales engineering experience related to Salesforce Billing
  • Minimum 5 years of Salesforce platform experience
  • Complete understanding of data models and product/pricing master data management
  • Knowledge of the full billing cycle including invoicing, payment configuration, revenue recognition, and ERP integration
  • Experience in B2B or B2C E-Commerce is highly desired
  • Excellent client-facing written and oral communication skills
  • Prior experience as the Lead Solution Architect on 3+ projects of at least 6 months duration
  • Active Salesforce certifications or ability to achieve relevant certifications upon hire

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Salesforce product releases and acquisitions
  • Familiarity with financial reporting and integration processes
