About the position

The Engineering Manager at Quaker is responsible for overseeing Facilities and Infrastructure Capital projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and managing engineering solutions across various manufacturing sites. This role combines project management with direct team leadership, requiring collaboration with multiple business functions to achieve project goals effectively and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Facilities & Infrastructure Engineering team to execute engineering solutions for Regulatory Compliance, FCAP, Obsolescence, Quality, and Food Safety.
  • Lead cross-functional teams including plant personnel, equipment vendors, and contractors to achieve project results.
  • Define project scope requirements and documentation for manufacturing and unit operations.
  • Independently lead multiple medium and large projects.
  • Develop multi-site investment strategies addressing Food Safety, Obsolescence, Reliability, FCAP, and EHS.
  • Create and implement Standards & Best Practices across Quaker sites.
  • Apply engineering principles to problem-solving and managing changes.
  • Manage project budgets, cost tracking, and funding documents using SAP.
  • Develop project timelines and maintain time management tools to ensure schedule attainment.
  • Oversee procurement processes including analyzing quotes and writing procurement documents.
  • Manage equipment installation and start-up plans while supervising contractors and vendors.
  • Communicate and mitigate project risks effectively.
  • Manage 1-3 direct report Engineers.

Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 6+ years of professional experience in engineering management.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong project management expertise.
  • Technical curiosity and a desire to continuously learn.
  • Previous experience managing direct reports is a plus.
  • Self-motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lead and drive results against ambiguous goals.
