About the position

Quaker Engineering is seeking an Engineering Manager to oversee Facilities and Infrastructure Capital projects. This role involves managing engineering solutions for regulatory compliance, quality, and food safety at manufacturing sites, while also directly managing a team of engineers. The position requires collaboration across various business functions and offers a unique blend of project management and people management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Execute engineering solutions for all facilities and infrastructure projects at manufacturing facilities.
  • Lead cross-functional teams including plant personnel, equipment vendors, and engineering contractors to achieve project goals.
  • Define manufacturing and unit operation needs for project scope requirements and documentation.
  • Independently lead multiple medium and large projects.
  • Develop multi-site investment strategies addressing Food Safety, Obsolescence, Reliability, FCAP, and EHS.
  • Create and implement Standards & Best Practices across all Quaker sites.
  • Manage project budgets and actively control project costs to meet financial requirements.
  • Develop project timelines and maintain time management tools to ensure schedule attainment.
  • Manage procurement processes including analyzing quotes and writing procurement documents.
  • Supervise equipment installation and start-up plans while managing outside contractors and vendors.
  • Communicate and mitigate project risks effectively.
  • Manage 1-3 direct report Engineers.

Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering
  • 6+ years of professional experience
  • Excellent communicative skills
  • Strong project management expertise
  • Technical curiosity with a desire to continuously learn
  • Previous experience with direct reports is a plus
  • Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented culture
  • Ability to lead and drive an agenda to deliver results against ambiguous goals
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
