About the position

The Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) is responsible for managing and coordinating the development and implementation of client-based habilitative programming for individuals with developmental disabilities at the Warrensville Developmental Center. This role involves overseeing interdisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with therapeutic standards, and promoting the habilitation of clients through effective program management and staff supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage and coordinate overall development and implementation of client-based habilitative programming for 16-24 individuals.
  • Chair the interdisciplinary team and coordinate services from internal and external support services.
  • Ensure all rendered services are therapeutic, compliant with rules, and effective for client habilitation.
  • Formulate and coordinate the annual comprehensive functional assessment for each client.
  • Complete a comprehensive annual individual plan and monthly analysis of each client's status and needs.
  • Coordinate input from all services into an Individual Program Plan for each client.
  • Develop client training goals based on team recommendations.
  • Ensure documentation meets Medicaid and licensure standards and requirements.
  • Supervise assigned staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Conduct routine rounds of residential areas to ensure active treatment is administered as required.
  • Model appropriate interactions and interventions with individuals and staff.
  • Provide information for discussion with families, guardians, and community agencies.
  • Participate in planning meetings and community outreach activities.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience working directly with persons with intellectual disabilities or other developmental disabilities.
  • Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy, Registered Nurse, or a bachelor's degree in a professional human services category (e.g., Psychology, Education, Anthropology).
