About the position

The Qualified Mental Health Professional position at Wexford Health Sources involves providing essential mental health services to patients in a correctional facility. This role is crucial in delivering compassionate care to marginalized individuals, ensuring they receive the necessary support and treatment. The position requires a licensed professional to conduct assessments, provide crisis intervention, and collaborate with medical staff to enhance the mental health services offered within the facility.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical screenings and assessments for treatment needs of offenders referred by medical, counseling, security, or other center staff.
• Provide clinical supervision of the center Crisis Team in the absence of a Clinical Psychologist, including quarterly training and consultation.
• Deliver crisis intervention counseling, brief therapy, and group therapy as needed for Center residents.
• Consult on mental health issues with the center medical staff.
• Train center personnel on mental health issues and the function of the Crisis Team.
• Monitor the provision of crisis services, ensuring documentation accuracy and compliance with Center directives.
• Oversee the clinical condition and treatment needs of special offender populations as necessary.
• Maintain documentation on all mental health contacts and submit monthly summary reports to the Chief of Mental Health Services.
• Provide psychological services for offenders needing transfer to Mental Health facilities, including court hearing testimony.
• Participate in Behavioral Health Ground Rounds as directed.

Requirements

• Current license as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Associate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (ALMFT).
• Graduate from an accredited university with a Master's Degree in a Mental Health area.
• Current CPR certification from an accepted provider.
