About the position

The University of Miami's Central Business Office is seeking a dedicated Quality Analyst to join their team in a full-time remote capacity. This role is pivotal in monitoring quality indicators to identify trends and learning opportunities for employees within the office. The Quality Analyst will be responsible for auditing a random selection of visits and validating the information entered by staff, ensuring adherence to established workflows and processes. This position requires an expert understanding of the revenue cycle, as well as the ability to provide objective feedback and training based on audit outcomes. The Quality Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the Medical School's vision, mission, goals, and objectives by facilitating patient-centric access to world-renowned medical care. In this role, the Quality Analyst will support Central Business Office leadership by identifying employee strengths and opportunities for improvement, providing objective feedback and recommendations in quality assurance documentation. The individual will collaborate closely with department leaders to develop and implement targeted training initiatives. By reviewing quality indicators, the Quality Analyst will monitor trends and pinpoint areas where training deficiencies exist. Additionally, the role involves analyzing quality audit findings to identify key issues, trends, and potential root causes that indicate opportunities for improvement. The Quality Analyst will assist in the development of customized training curricula tailored to the needs of employees, monitor and assist in process and problem resolution, and integrate training needs with quality monitoring efforts. This position also involves training and coaching new employees on the specific requirements and skills necessary for their roles. As a subject matter expert, the Quality Analyst will lead in-service sessions to keep staff updated on processes and guidelines, while maintaining expertise in product knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor quality indicators to identify trends and learning opportunities for employees.
  • Audit a random selection of visits and validate information entered by staff.
  • Provide feedback, coaching, and training to ensure adherence to workflows and processes.
  • Support Central Business Office leadership in identifying employee strengths and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement focused training initiatives in collaboration with department leaders.
  • Review quality indicators to monitor trends and identify training deficiencies.
  • Analyze quality audit findings to identify key issues, trends, and root causes for improvement.
  • Assist in developing custom training curricula based on employee needs.
  • Monitor and assist in process and problem resolution, integrating training needs with quality monitoring.
  • Train and coach new employees on role-specific requirements and skills.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert during in-service sessions to keep staff current on processes and guidelines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Three (3) years of experience in the healthcare field with strong revenue cycle experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in healthcare revenue cycle (billing, collections, insurance verification, etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to recognize trends and solve problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of technical and interpersonal communication.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Comfortable designing and delivering training for small and large groups.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
  • Knowledge of EPIC system.
