About the position

The Quality Analyst RN is a newly created position at MHSC, designed to enhance the quality of patient care and safety within the organization. This role is pivotal in supporting various quality initiatives, patient safety protocols, peer review processes, and improving patient experience activities as defined by the organization. Reporting directly to the Director of Quality, the Quality Analyst RN will be responsible for abstracting data from multiple computer systems and utilizing various data collection tools to evaluate the accuracy of this data. This position requires collaboration with teams of employees and physicians to drive improvements in clinical outcomes, ensuring that the organization meets regulatory standards and achieves success in its quality initiatives. The Quality Analyst RN must exhibit flexibility in their work habits to accommodate peak demands while maintaining consistency in work processes and data collection. A key responsibility of this role is to present data and quality information in various formats, enabling teams to interpret the information effectively and take appropriate action. The Quality Analyst RN will play a crucial role in fostering a culture of quality and safety within the organization, contributing to the overall mission of providing person-centered care that enhances patient and family engagement, improves clinical outcomes, and supports the professional aspirations of healthcare professionals. In addition to the technical skills required for data management and quality improvement, the Quality Analyst RN must possess strong communication skills to effectively convey complex information to diverse teams. Responsibilities

  • Support quality, patient safety, peer review, and patient experience activities as defined by the organization.
  • Abstract data from various computer systems and utilize data collection tools to evaluate data accuracy.
  • Collaborate with teams of employees and physicians to improve clinical outcomes.
  • Present data and quality information in various formats for team interpretation and action.
  • Maintain flexibility in work habits to meet peak demands while ensuring consistency in work processes and data collection.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Wyoming in good standing.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred or to be accomplished within 4 years of accepting the position.
  • Minimum of two years of hospital-based nursing experience in any clinical area or demonstrable clinical skills from other nursing fields.
  • Demonstrable skills in quality improvement, data management, and process improvement preferred.
  • Certification in quality (e.g., CPHQ, CHCQM) to be achieved within 4 years.

Nice-to-haves

  • Workable knowledge of clinical practices and evidence-based practice.
  • Self-motivated to learn and research literature.
  • Competency in using various data systems, EMRs, and software such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
