About the position

Ecolab is seeking a Quality Analyst to join their team in Vancouver, WA. This role focuses on quality problem resolution at manufacturing plants, particularly in mixing and packaging processes. The primary objective is to drive continuous improvement in quality, process control, material efficiency, cycle time, and the startup of new product production.

Responsibilities

  • Support Ecolab's Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiative program and improvement process.
  • Develop and implement action plans to solve problems; collaborate with other departments to maintain ISO 9001 and RC 14000 certification.
  • Lead the PQ Pillar and perform data analysis for process improvement.
  • Conduct quality assurance tests and procedures accurately and precisely.
  • Record and file all raw test data using good laboratory practices.
  • Communicate results and disposition to Manufacturing and Shipping.
  • Calculate and recommend batch adjustments to Manufacturing.
  • Report problems regarding procedures and specifications to the Quality Manager.
  • Prepare lab standard test reagents and perform standardization on reagents and equipment.
  • Maintain control charts and a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
  • Delegate waste for lab materials with the SH&E Manager.
  • Perform maintenance of instruments and ensure yearly calibrations are maintained.
  • Test non-routine laboratory samples and fill sample requests across departments.
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports with the Quality Manager.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on batch issues and complete product setups for customer complaints.
  • Submit SCARS, CAPAs, and waiver requests as needed.
  • Act as the primary lab troubleshooter for non-conforming batch lab work.
  • Utilize inter and intra departmental teamwork in daily activities and problem-solving.
  • Become an internal ISO auditor and perform internal audits annually.
  • Support lab and plant functions during external and internal audits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry.
  • Strong laboratory background in organic and/or analytical chemistry.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree.
  • Experience working in a chemical plant.
  • Experience in data analysis/trending.
  • Knowledge of FTIR and GC instrumentation and data analysis.
  • Continuous improvement experience.
  • Knowledge of Oxyalkylation Chemistry.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead others.
