About the position

The Quality Analyst at Rieke LLC plays a crucial role in ensuring that the products manufactured at the New Albany plant meet or exceed established quality standards. This position involves evaluating various activities within the plant to confirm compliance with quality standards and established policies and procedures. The Quality Analyst is responsible for ensuring that customers receive products that align with their quality requirements, thereby maintaining the company's reputation for excellence in quality management. In this role, the Quality Analyst will engage in a variety of tasks, including the identification and reporting of quality data both internally and externally. They will perform quality control tests on products at different stages of the production process to ensure adherence to quality and reliability standards. The analyst will also be responsible for recording statistical data, assisting in reconciliation and special project research, and analyzing data to validate or highlight deviations from existing standards. Recommendations for modifications to current standards, methods, or procedures will also be part of their responsibilities. Effective communication is key in this role, as the Quality Analyst will facilitate communication between management and operators. They will prepare and review documents for ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 internal audits, ensuring timely completion of Layered Process Audits (LPA). The analyst will conduct visual and dimensional inspections on all color programs to verify compliance with customer requirements and review vendor-supplied documentation for accuracy. They will also prepare documentation regarding acceptance or rejection of products and create design samples and range boards. Additionally, the Quality Analyst will oversee the work of quality technicians, providing training and support to employees from diverse backgrounds. They will be responsible for developing and writing work procedures, policies, reports, and other documentation. The analyst will identify and report all non-conforming materials to the appropriate personnel and complete customer Quality Notification (QN) investigations by providing the Quality Control Manager with relevant data regarding failure modes and lot traceability. They will also manage floor quality control issues, ensuring that daily firefighting of quality issues is completed and making decisions based on established criteria. Furthermore, the analyst will oversee GP-12 safe launches, train inspectors, collect and analyze data, and write inspection reports, taking overall responsibility for safe launch efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Enable effective communications between management and operators.
  • Review and prepare documents for ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 internal audits.
  • Complete Layered Process Audits (LPA) in a timely manner.

  • Review vendor-supplied documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare documentation regarding acceptance or rejection of products.

  • Identify, segregate, and report all non-conforming materials to appropriate personnel.
  • Complete customer QN Investigations by providing pertinent data to the QC Manager.
  • Oversee floor QC issues and ensure completion of daily firefighting of quality issues.
  • Oversee GP-12 safe launches, train inspectors, and write inspection reports.

Requirements

  • Proficient in reading prints.
  • Experience providing Quality Systems training to employees.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, QA applications, and general math.
  • Familiarity with gauge/inspection processes.
  • Knowledge and use of measuring instruments (caliper, micrometer, etc.).
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills (8D, Fishbone, 5 whys).
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the plant, including mentoring and training.
  • 3 years' experience in Quality management systems with knowledge of statistical process controls, preferably in the plastics industry.
  • Experience in process, product, and system audits.
  • Technical writing experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and taking initiative.
