About the position

The Quality Analytical Development Scientist at PGS Middleton is responsible for formulating, testing, and implementing analytical process improvements. This role involves supporting and leading technical analytical testing troubleshooting efforts, ensuring compliance with the Analytical Test Method Validation Program, and leading method optimization projects. The position requires strong technical expertise and the ability to manage short to medium term projects effectively.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement improvements to analytical test methods.
• Troubleshoot analytical methods as needed.
• Ensure that all elements of the Analytical Test Method Validation Program are maintained compliantly.
• Ensure that all QC Laboratory Equipment is qualified and validated for use.
• Perform periodic review of systems and data.
• Provide technical support for QC Laboratory investigations through troubleshooting and statistical analysis.
• Support QC Laboratory testing and review.
• Assist with equipment administrator activities.

Requirements

• High School Diploma with eight years of relevant experience; OR an Associate's degree with six years of experience; OR a Bachelor's degree with at least three years of experience; OR a Master's degree with more than one year of experience.
• Hands-on laboratory experience outside of the classroom.
• Broad understanding of general analytical techniques.
• Ability to multitask, understand goals, and set priorities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross functional team.
• Strong attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a GxP (GLP, GMP) environment preferred.
• Experience with the design and analysis of experiments and reviewing literature to formulate new approaches.
• Excellent organization skills with a high level of initiative in performing and troubleshooting experiments.
• Understanding and comfort using statistical analyses.
• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Math, or related technical discipline preferred.
