About the position

The Quality and Risk Management Data Specialist at Central State Hospital is responsible for supporting the quality improvement program through measurement, data collection, data analysis, and data interpretation. This role requires expert proficiency in Excel and strong statistical skills to generate usable reports and develop procedures based on data management strategies. The position is critical in analyzing data trends and making recommendations for program management and policy changes.

Responsibilities

  • Support the quality improvement program through measurement and data collection.
  • Conduct data analysis and interpretation to inform hospital operations.
  • Develop procedures based on data management and statistical strategies.
  • Identify necessary data management and statistical strategies for report generation.
  • Analyze data trends and extrapolate effects on hospital operations.
  • Communicate effectively with various levels of hospital leadership regarding data trends and recommendations.
  • Manage internal and external quality, risk management, and compliance projects.

Requirements

  • Expert level proficiency in Excel required.
  • Statistics coursework is necessary.
  • Demonstrated experience with data visualization.
  • Strong statistics or data science skills.
  • Skills in computer programming languages such as SPSS, SAS, and SQL.
  • Ability to analyze and recognize trends in data.
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology.

Nice-to-haves

  • EHR understanding and implementation preferred.
  • Experience in a psychiatric hospital setting preferred.
