About the position

The Assistant Sample Specialist plays a crucial role in the quality control process at Grifols, ensuring the acceptability of various samples for testing. This position is responsible for maintaining compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), managing sample documentation, and conducting investigations into discrepancies. The role requires a keen understanding of quality control processes and the ability to communicate effectively with various departments to ensure the integrity of the materials being tested.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accountability, GMP compliance, and delivery of all samples and associated documentation for quality control testing.
  • Audit all sample labeling and documentation for accuracy and GMP compliance.
  • Transport samples and documentation to various quality laboratories.
  • Conduct investigations to resolve and document GMP errors or discrepancies associated with sampling, labeling, and documentation.
  • Interface with personnel from various departments to correct deficiencies and facilitate sample delivery for laboratory testing.
  • Perform data entry in Microsoft Office, SAP, and STIS.
  • Resolve sample discrepancies directly with internal and external customers.
  • Maintain neat, accurate, and complete records of materials evaluation and sample activities.

Requirements

  • An Associate's Degree with an emphasis in a scientific field is required.
  • Working experience in the pharmaceutical industry under GMP and GLP is needed.
  • Knowledge of human plasma products is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
  • Extensive knowledge of cGMPs, product specifications, and distribution operating procedures is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with a wide variety of systems and procedures for reviewing and accepting quality test materials.
  • Keen assessment skills to distinguish between insignificant and significant deviations.
  • Fundamental knowledge of math and science, including chemistry, biochemistry, and biology.
