The Quality Associate position at Trex Company is a critical role that supports the entire site by ensuring that the quality team has the necessary samples, supplies, equipment, and procedures to maintain high production standards. This position is integral in managing quality processes, particularly focusing on 2nd pass quality holds and audits. The Quality Associate will be responsible for a variety of tasks that contribute to the overall quality assurance efforts within the manufacturing environment. Key responsibilities include auditing and managing visual samples for decking, railing, and signature products across multiple buildings. The Quality Associate will assist in the quality auditing process across all shifts, leading daily and weekly audits and reporting results to the leadership team. This role requires flexibility to interface with night shift production teams, ensuring that quality standards are upheld at all times. In addition to auditing responsibilities, the Quality Associate will conduct quality consistency audits for personnel across different crews, ensuring that all equipment, tools, and supplies are in working condition and readily available for the quality team. The position also involves performing Gauge R&R testing, ensuring that quality testing equipment is certified and calibrated according to specifications. The Quality Associate will lead continuous improvement projects as needed and perform finished goods audits for decking and railing lines. The role also includes responsibilities for retesting materials on quality hold, conducting visual assessments for defects, and reprocessing any dimensional bundles on hold. Incoming raw material inspections, electronic data entry of audit results, and reporting to quality leadership are also key components of this position. The Quality Associate will assist with inline hot to cold studies and may fill in for crew quality staffing during emergencies. Minor mechanical and electrical repairs supporting the quality department may also be required, along with the installation of small-scale quality initiatives that do not require contracting. Additional tasks may be assigned by Quality Leads, Supervisors, or Managers as necessary.
