About the position

The Quality Assurance Analyst 3 is responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of software applications through rigorous testing and defect tracking. This role involves developing test cases, coordinating testing efforts, and documenting defects while collaborating with software developers to enhance product quality. The position requires a strong background in QA methodologies and tools, particularly in Azure DevOps, and offers the opportunity to work in a remote setting for a 12-month contract with potential extensions.

Responsibilities

  • Write, present, and publish reports that record site history, methodology, and artifact analysis results, along with recommendations for conserving and interpreting findings.
  • Design test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures.
  • Test system modifications to prepare for implementation.
  • Develop testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usability.
  • Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers.
  • Identify, analyze, and document problems with program function, output, online screen, or content.
  • Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes.
  • Create or maintain databases of known test defects.
  • Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates.
  • Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.
  • Review software documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, or completeness, or to mitigate risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or a closely related technical field is preferred.
  • 6 years of QA experience is required with a bachelor's degree in specified fields.
  • 10 years of QA experience is required without a degree or bachelor's degree in unspecified fields.
  • Experience should involve test methodology design and implementation, along with hands-on experience writing test plans, test cases, test data, and test database creation/sanitation, problem tracking/resolution, coordinating test activities among multiple testers, and maintaining defect logs.

Nice-to-haves

  • CSQA (Certified Software Quality Analyst).
  • Experience with Agile Modeling.
  • Demonstrated experience using XML, JSON, Oracle, or SQL for application integration, testing, and environmental compatibility.
  • Experience using SwaggerUI, SoapUI, or other like tools for testing mock data payloads.
  • Working knowledge of Jama's Contour.
