About the position

The Quality Assurance Analyst (QA) role at Cognizant involves ensuring high-quality software delivery through established quality assurance standards. The position focuses on designing valid business scenario tests, performing various types of testing, and collaborating with software engineering teams to track and report defects. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity of software releases within the healthcare sector, particularly in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute tests based on valid business scenarios.
• Participate in grooming sessions to produce test strategies and test cases.
• Perform smoke, system, integration, functional, and regression testing.
• Report and track defects using a defect tracking system.
• Build, maintain, and execute the regression test suite.
• Gather and analyze business and functional requirements during design reviews.
• Utilize various test techniques and design methods to detect errors in applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum six years of experience in software development/quality assurance.
• Experience with issue tracking systems and test case repositories.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with complex query design.
• Familiarity with Agile testing methodologies and life sciences/healthcare projects.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in automation testing and performance testing.
• Familiarity with XML data structure and web service testing tools like SoapUI.
