About the position

The Quality Assurance Analyst/Tester role involves designing, executing, and debugging test plans for software applications to ensure they meet business requirements and technical specifications. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying and documenting software failures, evaluating usability, and communicating test results to stakeholders. This is a contract position based in Montgomery, AL, requiring onsite presence from day one.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and debug test plans for software applications based on business requirements and technical specifications.
• Review project requirements and develop appropriate test cases to ensure all requirements are met and yield the expected results.
• Detect and identify web-based configuration/workflow failures to ensure issues are discovered, documented, corrected, and retested.
• Evaluate software usability and error handling procedures.
• Communicate test progress, results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management.
• Document test results and generate historical analysis of applications capabilities and functionality.
• Document configuration anomalies and defects in an issue tracking database.
• Participate in application planning/design meetings.
• Provide application instructions for users.

Requirements

• 3 years of experience in performing software testing.
• Experience in creating test cases.
• Experience in web-based software/application testing.
• Knowledge of requirements traceability.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Windows PC and web browser testing environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft software, service desk ticket management, and communication tools.
