About the position

The Sr. Quality Assurance Analyst will be a key member of the IT Quality Assurance Team, responsible for supporting various projects, incidents, disaster recovery, patching, automation, and artificial intelligence initiatives through comprehensive testing and validation. This role involves collaborating with development teams to ensure high-quality application performance across multiple platforms, including GIS, Oracle EBS, mainframe, and AWS.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with development teams to evaluate application requirements and synthesize plans, strategies, and scenarios for system testing.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of QA testing strategy and design for large, complex, and enterprise-wide IT projects.
  • Establish plans, standards, and procedures in collaboration with the Quality Assurance Manager and application development teams.
  • Ensure adequate product testing prior to implementation.
  • Provide technical expertise and oversight to other QA team members.
  • Define and track quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts.
  • Provide training and guidance to project teams regarding QA processes and procedures.
  • Educate business users on business requirements and user acceptance testing protocols.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing in close collaboration with user acceptance testers.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations on various aspects of IT QA to other IT departments and WSSC Water business users.
  • Facilitate regular patching events for Windows, Linux, and other assigned platforms.
  • Develop, maintain, and provide status reports on project progress metrics.
  • Evaluate automated testing tools and in-house processes for refinement and improvement.
  • Follow projects/changes post go-live to ensure production performance aligns with tested solutions.
  • Ensure standards are followed for testing, benchmarking, and change management.
  • Work with test automation or learn UFT automation.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Quality Assurance or related field.
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies and processes.
  • Experience with various platforms such as GIS, Oracle EBS, mainframe, and AWS.
  • Proficiency in defining and tracking quality assurance metrics.
  • Ability to provide training and guidance to project teams.
  • Experience in conducting user acceptance testing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with automated testing tools and UFT automation.
  • Experience in disaster recovery and patching processes.
  • Knowledge of artificial intelligence initiatives in QA.
